Compassionate Touch® Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does the Compassionate Touch program include?

A: Compassionate Touch® is available at two levels to best support your business goals and organizational needs. Regardless of level, all Compassionate Touch® programs include a Coach Pack, 6-hour coach training for 2-3 Coaches, and access to a set of 1-hour Compassionate Touch Caregiver microlearning courses.

Q: Does Compassionate Touch® require ongoing costs?

A: Yes! Compassionate Touch® requires a nominal monthly subscription, which can be paid annually. Subscription covers program use license, access to coach resources and general support through customer service, quarterly education updates, webinars and newsletters. Annually, all clients receive training credits to support staff turnover or further program implementation.

 

Q: Is Dementia Live® only a staff training program?

A: No! Compassionate Touch® is a holistic, personalized approach that can be shared with families, volunteers and offered as community education. The included 1-hour Compassionate Touch Caregiver microlearning courses can be gifted to family caregivers, prospects and other stakeholders as well as use as staff training.

Q: Does AGE-u-cate offer ongoing support?

A: Yes! AGE-u-cate team members are always available for questions or general support. We love learning from our clients and creating new content for ongoing enrichment of our programs! All trained coaches gain access to Coach Resources, a portal with continually updated content including refresher videos, downloadable forms and other program documents.

 

Q: Do Compassionate Touch sessions take a lot of time?

A: No! Compassionate Touch is very effective even in as little as 5 minutes. During training, Coaches receive information on ways to incorporate Compassionate Touch into existing care routines. Each of the three techniques are taught being used while the recipient is seated and while lying in bed making this a program that is adaptable and flexible.

 

  Q: Is Compassionate Touch appropriate for use in hospice care?

A: Yes! The Compassionate Touch Coach Training Manual has a section dedicated to using Compassionate Touch at the end of life.
